A lovely diamond butterfly pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This wonderfully feminine piece depicts an open winged butterfly that is covered in Rose Cut Diamonds. With a 3-dimensional look, the butterfly has wide spread wings, 2 gold antennas, and 2 faceted rubies as eyes. All of the diamonds are bead set in an open back, silver topped, 14k yellow gold setting. Resting in the center of the body is a bezel-set sapphire stone. The back of the butterfly reveals a long pin clasp. A special attachment has been added to the piece allowing one to wear it as a pin or pendant hanging from the 14k yellow gold chain. It's a simply exceptional piece and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurement: The butterfly pin/pendant measures 1 1/2" wide, is slightly more than 1" tall and has a depth of 1/8". The overall length of the chain is 15".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin/pendant and chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver topped gold setting or to the gold chain and all of the stones are intact. The pin and chain clasp are secure and in good working condition.
