A lovely cufflink and button set from the legendary maker Van Cleef & Arpels in the Retro (ca1940s) era! This set includes a pair of cufflinks and three matching buttons with connecting loops. Each piece is crafted in 18k gold and has a simple yet striking design. Each piece features a circular gold frame with with a single baguette cut ruby set in the center, connected with a gold bar running through the center of the circle. The cufflinks are comprised of two of these centerpieces linked with a simple gold bar, with the rubies hinged to allow them to rotate freely. The buttons each feature a slightly smaller centerpiece on a gold post, which clasps securely into a lock backing. Stamped on the backs of each piece are several markings, including: "VCA 6199 CS" and a handful of French hallmarks. A classic and stylish Retro cufflink set, it would add the perfect flair to any formal attire!

Measurements: The cufflink faces have a 1/2" diameter, and the bars on the back measure 3/4" long. The button faces have a diameter just under 3/8".

Condition: The overall condition of the cufflink set is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold settings or to the rubies. Each piece remains intact within the set, and in good working order.
