A fantastic pair of amethyst earrings from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Italian in origin and crafted in sterling silver gilt form, each earring features a wonderful teardrop shaped component, which is ornately decorated with scrolling motifs and cutout designs. Featured in the center of each earring is an oval cut bezel set amethyst stone. Each earring also features a uniquely shaped surmount, which is decorated with similar scrolling motifs and cutout designs. The earrings also feature sterling silver posts and friction backs. They look marvelous when worn and would make an impressive addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 3/4" long, are 7/8" wide, and 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gilded silver, and the amethyst stones are all intact. The earrings posts and backs are secure and intact.
