An absolutely amazing French-made gold buckle bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wide, 3 dimensional bangle is made of 18kt gold and has a beautiful buckle design. The buckle itself is adorned with four bezel set oval cut rubies with an intricately etched black enamel border. At the tip of the strap is a pearl stud surrounded with more black enameling, acting as the prong to the buckle motif. The bracelet has a wonderful swirling etched design along each edge of the bracelet and a smoothly polished finish. The bracelet, which is hinged in several places, closes at a push clasp with safety chain for added security. The tongue of the push clasp is marked with the french eagle and rhinoceros along with a lozenge hallmark reading "G&T". The contrast between the beautiful stones, stark enameling, and the vibrant yellow gold is simply stunning. A strong Victorian piece, it has a gorgeous look and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The face of the bracelet measures 1 1/8" tall. The inside circumference (where your wrist would rest) measures approximately 6 1/4".

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or to any of the stones, all of which are intact and securely set. There is minimal chipping to the enamel. The clasp and safety are snug and secure and the hinge is in good working condition.
